Our Team
Roberto Vélez Roberto holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance from University of Maryland at College Park. He is an active member of several professional organizations including National Society of Accountants, Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALTPA) and American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. With over 17 years experience in accounting and finance including: budget creation, departmental budget implementation, cost detail support, revenue strategies, tax reporting & preparation, sales & use tax, corporate income returns, direct response for audit requests, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, financial analysis, cash flows and assist in tax preparation, Roberto’s creative problem solving abilities are vast. Roberto’s highly developed negotiating skills, and strong accounting & finance background are the driving force to the positive output of detailed documents, accurate reports, and timely resolutions to financial and accounting issues for Vélez Consulting. |

Michelle Vélez Michelle is the company’s Business Developer & Notary. Michelle brings 11 years of Business Management experience and a certificate in Travel & Tourism, which has helped her to successfully assist new companies in the industry to market & grow their businesses. Michelle is eligible with expected receipt of a Marketing Certificate from St. Petersburg College. She is a member of Women in Networking (WIN) and has cultivated strategic business partnerships in the Tampa Bay community in part due to her active involvement with the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Committee for the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce. Currently Michelle works with the Chamber by attending ribbon-cutting ceremonies and volunteering her time to welcome new businesses to the community. In January 2012, Michelle will take the role of Secretary for the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Program. Michelle’s new role will allow her to become more active in the community and to share with other local businessmen and women what the Chamber has to offer.
Katie McIntosh Katie joined the company in November 2010 and holds an Associate’s degree in Accounting and Management from Baker College in Port Huron, MI. Katie will complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Baker College in May 2012. Katie is a certified bookkeeper and works with all of our monthly bookkeeping clients with Account Payable/Receivable, Cash Flows, Journal Entries, Reconciliation, and Payroll amongst other duties. Katie is a savvy Quickbooks user (QB Pro and QB Accountant versions) and will complete the Quickbooks Pro Advisor courses in 2012. Katie is also well versed with PeachTree software.
Lisa L. Thompson Lisa joined the company in January 2011 and has over 10+ years operational & financial management experience from various backgrounds including construction, healthcare, private partnership firms, food services, web businesses, and daycares. Lisa is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo - School of Management where she received an MBA concentrating in Business Consulting & received a BS in Business Administration graduating Summa Cum Laude. Lisa currently works with new clients in developing a plan of action for requested services and assists in all areas of the business including bookkeeping and business development.
